Educational Assistance
a form of assistance given to a student-in-crisis, to help defray school expenses and/or cost of sending students/children to school such as school fees, school supplies, school projects, allowances and other related expenses. Beneficiaries may include orphaned/abandoned children of solo parents, or unemployed parents or persons with disability in crisis, children with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or those living with parents with HIV, those who are victims of abuse, or displacement. The eligible students are those who are not included in the Municipal Scholar. A maximum of one (1) student per family shall be entitled to this assistance.
Criteria of Eligibility:
Must be a resident in the municipality
The student must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution (elementary, high school, senior high school, or college/university)
The applicant must be a student-in-crisis facing financial hardship that hinders their ability to continue schooling.
Must not be a recipient of municipal scholarship program or other similar government-funded educational assistance programs.
A maximum of one (1) student per family is eligible for this assistance.
The student must belong to a low-income or financially distressed household.
Qualifying Crisis Situations
The student must belong to a family facing significant financial hardship due to any of the following:
a. Economic Hardship
Orphaned or abandoned children without financial support.
Children of solo parents who are unable to afford school expenses.
Children of unemployed parents with no stable source of income.
Children of persons with disabilities (PWDs) who are struggling financially.
b. Health-Related Crisis
Students who have Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or are living with parents with HIV.
Children from families affected by serious medical conditions that drain financial resources.
c. Victims of Abuse or Displacement
Students who are victims of domestic violence, neglect, or abuse.
Children displaced due to disasters, armed conflict, or eviction.
Requirements
- Updated Original Certificate of Indigency from Barangay proving financial incapacity
- Certified True Copy of Enrollment Assessment Form or Certificate of Enrollment
- School ID of the student/ Beneficiary (Photocopy)
- Certified True Copy of Grades signed by the authorized personnel
- Medical Certificate (if applicable for HIV and other health related cases)
- Police Report/ Social Worker’s Assessment (for abuse and displacement cases)
